Joe Pontecorvo is an award-winning producer and cinematographer.

His fascination with the natural world, and curiosity about other cultures has taken him around the globe - from Siberia to Africa, Thailand to Peru, Alaska to Borneo. His commitment to the preservation of wilderness and wildlife continues to fuel his work.

Most recently Joe was the producer and cinematographer on a three part series, Bears of the Last Frontier for PBS Nature, and Director of Photography on “Wolverines: Chasing the Phantom” for PBS NATURE.

Joe was also the Series Producer and creator of a four part series,“MEKONG Soul of a River” for Animal Planet International and Discovery HD. In 2008 Joe’s one-hour special, “Kingdom of the Elephants” produced for Animal Planet International won Best Documentary at the Asian TV Awards.
